Sie hat dort Design studiert und ist die Gründerin und Geschäftsführerin von TEATIAMO – die wundervolle Design Dildos aus den typisch nordischen Naturmaterialien Holz und Stein designen, herstellen und verkaufen.

Ihre Mission ist es, “‘sexy’ wieder zurück ans Tageslicht zu bringen” und die Grenzen und das Image der Sex Toy Industrie zu brechen. Sie sagt:

Ich habe sie zu ihrem Dildo Business und – wie soll es auch anders sein – zum Thema Sex und Happiness befragt. Diesmal auf Englisch… Hier die 6 Antworten und 6 Lieblings… – als Quickies – von Tea:

Sechs mal Sex:

1. How did you get into the dildo design business?
   It is a long story including a lot of crossing paths with different ideas and people. Recently they published a nice article about me in Nordic Spirits Magazine where it says following written by Matilda Kivelä:“There was a door in Miami that I walked past almost every day. It looked so tantalising, yet every time I tried to open it it was locked. For some reason, it kept calling my name and I kept stopping to try its handle to see if it was open. On the day I told my then-boyfriend to pack his bags and leave our shared home, I walked past the door. It was unlocked and a tiny woman was in. She asked me if I knew why the door had been locked until that morning, quickly replying to her own question. “It was locked because you were not ready until now.” It sent chills down my spine.We started a long process of healing, working on my strengths and weaknesses together. We became friends. Once during a meditation session, she suddenly sprung up, holding her small hands parallel to each other and exclaimed “I see dildos in beautiful wooden boxes!” While it would be poetic to say that it was an epiphany, I was actually confused by her outburst. It kind of made me feel a bit dirty. At that point I had been working in fashion and as an art director for years. Becoming a dildo dealer was not part of my plan.I flew back to Finland and over that spring, ideas of something of my own started to form…”

2. How do people react when you tell them that you are designing sex toys, and especially, what was your family’s reaction?
   Usually they laugh or ask “really?” But I love genuine and fun reactions. Actually, my mom was my first customer!
3. What’s your source of inspiration and where and when do you get your best ideas?
   I get inspiration when I travel and talk with different people. I am also surrounded by very smart and amazing friends so of course my friends inspire me most.
4. How does a day in your life look like? Any helpful routines or your best tipps for being happy?
   I would say that I don’t have specific routines except I need a cup of coffee in the morning. Other than that I generally believe that routines need to be changed all the time for future development and adaption and that works both in work as well as in exercise. Best tips for being happy is taking care of your own wellbeing, needs and desires. You need to find your own happiness before being able to give and share that with anyone else. Also the key to happiness is knowing what you want.
5. What’s your life’s philosophy or what’s your mission?
   Paint yourself a paradise and step into it. I have always loved that quote from Finnish poet and politician Tommy Taberman.
6. Just a quick guess: How many times have you had sex in your life?
   Obviously not enough yet.

What’s your Lieblings…

• …book?  This is the tough one but I need to say Gomorrah: Italy’s other mafia by Roberto Saviano because I just read it a month ago and that totally opened my eyes. It dealt with so many business issues and industries that I had never thought of. It was mad and brutal as well but also true story which makes it more captivating.
• …music for getting it on? I have never needed any music for getting it on however I love old school Barry White etc.
• …ice cream flavor? Rasberry sorbet
• …word? Compassion
• …sex position? There are many but I am looking forward of getting the swing
• …sex toy? Rose quartz dildo by TEATIAMO (rose quartz is important for opening the heart chakra.)
